About Mrs. Wiginton

Meet Mrs. Wiginton: Former classroom teacher, Mom to 5 fantastic kids, wife and friend to many, especially young children. After leaving the classroom, Mrs. Wiginton decided to pursue her love of reading by teaching and tutoring other young children to read and to LOVE it. Yes, it is possible to teach children to read and LOVE it! Whether it's through our monthly Book Club, or one-on-one tutoring, join Wee Readers and watch your child's love of reading GROW to new heights!

Components of Reading

These are the most important reading skills for students when it comes to learning to read. Let us help your child SUCCEED.

A few important behaviors will help your child learn to love reading

Teaching children to love to read might not be what you think!  Students enjoy reading something they love.  Find their favorite book and read it A LOT.  Also, read out loud to your children...every night! These reading behaviors, along with many more, will help nurture your child's joy and love of reading.

Phonemic Awareness

The sound letters make when they are combined with other syllables to form spoken words

Reading Fluency

The ability to read without having to stop and decode each word. Vocabulary strength also plays a big role in growing strong readers. The stronger the students vocabulary is, the better their fluency and comprehension will be!  Let us help you with these skills!

When our son had some struggles in school, Mrs. Wiginton not only reached out with solid resources and direction, she became part of our "step-by-step" journey in the process. Not only did she accompany us as parents, she also created some positive "side opportunities" for struggling students by keeping learning fun and positive along the way. Mrs. Wiginton truly has a heart for children and we remain blessed by having her in our corner!

Mrs. Wiginton is an exceptional reading teacher who brings creativity, energy and care to her students everyday.  She has a true gift for making reading both fun and meaningful for her students by encouraging a lifelong love of learning. My twins have excelled in reading because of her passion for teaching.

Mrs. Wiginton has been my daughter's tutor for the last 6 months.  She goes above and beyond to make sure my daughter is grasping the material. She keeps her lessons effective, fun and engaging! My daughter looks forward to going every week!  I highly recommend her to all my friends and family.

My son worked through his second grade year and we saw so much growth. He went from being too shy to even try to blend sounds together to proudly reading paragraphs out loud in class. We are so thankful.
